The Minnesota Vikings will host a game at London?s Wembley Stadium next September, ESPN?s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday. The home game, which is expected to be made official at the NFL owner?s meetings on Tuesday, could be the first of multiple in London for the Vikings, Schefter reported:
It also could be the first of more Vikings home games in London, though the league still wants to see how this game with Minnesota works out before giving the team another home game in London in 2014 as part of the NFL?s expanding International Series, according to the sources.
An NFL spokesman, however, said that no decision had been made yet on a possible second game in London next season.
That means there would be two contests in London next season. The Jacksonville Jaguars are already scheduled to play the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 27., 2013. It will be the first of four consecutive seasons in which the Jaguars host a London game.
The Vikings are scheduled to move into a new, $975 million stadium in 2016.
